With Marathon’s 1.0.5.2 update, Bungie is changing up how Outpost plays as well as implementing a few important fixes and adjustments aimed at improving gameplay.
Map Adjustments - Outpost, Dire Marsh, Cryo Archive
Outpost
The biggest change in update 1.0.5.2 is the adjustments Bungie have made to the Outpost map, specifically the Tox Warden boss fight and the Pinwheel subzone.
- The Tox Warden:
- The fight area has been tuned to reduce the number of hiding spots players can find - hiding was my only hope so RIP!
- Tox plants now react correctly to player presence making the fight even harder.
- Pinwheel:
- The Destroyed Wing entrance is once again open.
- The loot found in Pinwheel has been improved overall, including the quality of loose loot and small containers.
- Encounters within Pinwheel have been updated to match reward quality.
- The security credentials needed to access the locked room in the Hub have been changed, now requiring 3 red keycards to enter
- Bulletproof glass has been added to the Hub Room.
- The final Exfil no longer spawns in the same location every run… so Rooks may need to be prepared for some increased challenge when extracting!
Dire Marsh
- The Anomalous waypoint bug showing below the map has been fixed.
Cryo Archive
- Geometry in Vault 6 that allowed Runners to fall to their death has been fixed.
Movement Mechanics
- Slide cancel animations that previously allowed momentum retention when using equipment or the Thief's Grapple Device have been addressed. This change enforces meaningful costs for rapid repositioning.
Contracts
- Resolved an issue causing players to be locked in a room (sounds scary!) during the Introducing: NuCaloric contract.
- An issue that required you to pay credits to reroll a disabled contract has been fixed.
- Objective points are no longer visible to all Runners in the RUN/HIDE [Part 1/6] contract.
Miscellaneous Fixes
- Cryo Archive: Geometry in Vault 6 has been changed to prevent falling deaths.
- Armory: Crashes and low frame rates while navigating this menu have been addressed.
- Codex: Display issues in Ranked Challenges have been fixed, and Requiem for a Cyborg progresses correctly for all players in a crew after a successful Compiler kill.
UI & Localization Improvements
- The ESC key now properly exits the keybinding menu.
- An option to clear keybinds has been added, with a fix for non-English display in the works.
- Control loss issues with IME keyboards in text chat have been resolved.
