What is Runner Terminal?

Runner Terminal is a handcrafted companion tool for Marathon by Bungie. It's built by one developer — a Marathon player who wanted better tools than what was available. Every weapon stat, every salvage drop location, every faction upgrade cost, and every cradle perk on this site was pulled directly from the game by hand. There is no official Marathon API. There is no data dump. Everything is collected by launching the game, opening menus, running zones, and writing down what's there.

The site is designed to sit open on a second monitor or tablet while you play — quick access to the information that matters during a run, without having to dig through menus or alt-tab through wikis. Free to use. No paywalls. Most tools work without signing in.

How the data works

Because Marathon has no public API, data is gathered manually by loading into the game and recording values — weapon damage numbers, TTK testing against verified shield tiers, salvage drop locations confirmed through repeated extractions, and faction upgrade costs checked against the in-game vendor screens. Community playtesters contribute verification and corrections through the feedback form.

Data is stored in a Sanity CMS and fed into a statically-generated Next.js site. When the game patches, data is updated by re-checking in-game values and pushing corrections to the CMS. The site rebuilds automatically when new data is published, so you're always seeing the latest verified information. Every Season 2 change — new zones, adjusted drop locations, rebalanced weapon stats, the Cradle system — was added this way.
