Welcome to Runner Terminal - A Marathon Game Companion Website

Runner Terminal is live! Here's what it does, what's coming next, and how you can help shape it.

#marathon#devlog

Hey!

My name is Josh - welcome to my passion project, Runner Terminal. I wanted to build a Marathon companion site that was more than just an item database and was something that made progressing in the game easier. To me, the Faction progression in Marathon felt overwhelming. In an average play session I'd ask myself:

What upgrades does each faciton even have? What rank do I need to be for that upgrade? What materials do I need for that upgrade? Where can I find those materials...? You get the idea.

And so my initial goal for Runner Terminal is to help answer all of those questions while you play to make faction progressio a little bit easier.

Tools That Are Live Today

  • Faction Upgrade Tracker — Track your progress across all six factions. Use the Faction Upgrades tab to see all upgrades in one spot, and choose what you want to work towards. Get a Farming Plan that breaks down exactly what materials you still need for your goals and where to find them. Mark goals complete once you've unlocked the upgrade. Progress syncs to your account.
  • Material Finder — Pick your goals, a specific upgrade, a zone or a specific material and find the best places to farm what you need.
  • Weapon Comparison — Put two or three weapons side-by-side with full damage falloff curves, TTK tables, and DPS breakdowns.
  • TTK Rankings — Every weapon ranked by time-to-kill within its class. Switch shield tier to see how the meta shifts.
  • Item Codex — A searchable database of all weapons, mods, implants, cores, consumables, keys, and salvage items.

What's Coming

With the lack of an official Bungie API for the game, I need to be creative with what tools I can offer. My main goal moving forward is to ensure our data is up to date and accurate. I want to continue iterating on the Progression page, as well as adding a Run Logger to document your journey on Tau Ceti (as well as track stats of course!).

With ranked mode upon us, I'd like to build out some tooling to help calculate run scores needed to increase rank, as I'm sure this will be slightly confusing to most players.

The blog you're reading right now is also a new feature! Guides, patch notes, tier lists, and dev updates will all appear here.

How You Can Help

If something is wrong or missing, PLEASE use the Feedback button in the nav. The data on the site is manually curated and community assistance makes things much much easier as well as making the data more reliable.

Thanks for using the site, I truly hope it helps!

-Josh
