Frequently Asked Questions
How do I compare two weapons?
Select a weapon from each dropdown above. The comparison table shows every stat side-by-side: DPS, TTK, accuracy, handling, range, magazine size, reload time, ammo type, and mod slots.
What stats should I prioritize?
For raw kill speed, look at DPS and TTK. For accuracy at range, check Accuracy and Range. For CQC, Handling and Mag Size matter more. For sustained fights, Reload Speed and Ammo cost determine how often you resupply.
What do the colored stat values mean?
Green values are better, red values are worse, white values are equal. This makes it easy to spot which weapon wins in each category without memorizing stat ranges.
Do mods affect the comparison stats?
No—the comparison shows unmodified base stats. Mods can dramatically change performance but those effects depend on your build.
How much does ammo cost matter?
Light Rounds are cheap (about 75¢ per mag), Volt Cells and Hyphatic Gel are expensive (over 500¢ per mag). Budget-conscious players should factor ammo cost into weapon choice.
The Weapon Comparison tool lets you compare up to three Marathon weapons side-by-side across every stat that matters. Each weapon column shows ammo type and cost, cost for four full magazines, mod slots, time-to-kill against all four shield tiers (Standard, Enhanced, Deluxe, and Superior), core stats (DPS, damage per shot, RPM, precision multiplier, magazine size, reload speed), and advanced stats (recoil, aim assist, equip speed, weight, and more).
The Combat Analysis section lets you tune a specific scenario — pick a shield tier, set a headshot percentage, and drag the range slider to see how effective damage and TTK change as your target moves further away. Damage falloff is modelled per weapon using each weapon's range stat, with shotgun pellets falling to 0% at maximum range while other weapons floor at 50%.
